Bio

Lauren Foerster, NCIDQ, WELL AP, is the founder and principal of Foerster Design Studio, where she blends thoughtful design with a deep understanding of human well-being. With 16 years of professional experience across healthcare, retail, corporate, higher education, and multi-family residential environments, Foerster creates interiors that are functional, efficient, and supportive of wellness. Her work reflects a holistic design philosophy informed by her background in interior design, fine art, and fashion, resulting in spaces that feel personal, purposeful, and deeply considered.

A human-centered approach is at the core of Foerster’s practice. Through a deliberate exploration of materiality, color, light, and proportion, she creates environments that support both people and performance. Whether designing patient-centered healthcare spaces that reduce staff burnout or brand-driven interiors that communicate identity and values, Foerster believes great design has the power to measurably improve daily experience and long-term outcomes.

Foerster’s notable projects include University of Miami Centennial Village, Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital, and Baker Boyer Bank, among a diverse portfolio of academic, medical, and commercial work. She is particularly recognized for helping organizations optimize existing spaces, balancing operational efficiency, wellness, and aesthetics to create environments that are adaptable, sustainable, and enduring.

Foerster holds a degree in interior design from Kansas State University and is NCIDQ certified and WELL accredited, reinforcing her commitment to health-focused, evidence-informed design. Her work has been recognized with honors such as “Best Interpretation of a Concept” at IIDA’s Unravel, and she has served as a Best of NeoCon jury member for three consecutive years. Through Foerster Design Studio, Lauren continues to design spaces that quietly elevate the human experience by supporting healing, creativity, and connection through intentional design.
